The Republic Act 12009 or "New Government Procurement Act" (an Act revising RA 9184) is approved by both the Senate and Congress last 24 July 2024. It will be the basis of the implementing rules and regulations for government procurement.
Of interest to the University is the addition of Article IV Modes of Procurement, Section 26(k) "Direct procurement for Science, Technology and Innovation" and additional provisions for modes of procurements allowed for instances of scientific, scholarly or artistic work.
