Software and apps supported by the College and of the University (UP System) are available with your active UP email account or accessible via a request to CSRC. A more comprehensive guide page for the UP System sponsored software is available online in an ITDC webpage.

Zoom

Availability: Faculty and students via their @up accounts.

Login page using web browser can be accessed via the up-edu zoom webpage. If you have your @up email account, you may use your university-sponsored zoom via the SSO login. Here's the Zoom guidelines on how to do the proper SSO login.

The company subdomain for UP is up-edu such that the full domain is up-edu.zoom.us.

Zoom: Location of the SSO button for desktop application. Similar SSO button is found in the web interface.
Zoom usage: Using the UP webmail account for your Zoom sessions.

Slido

Availability: For UP faculty only

Slido is an online platform for Q&A and polling that can be used for remote meetings, classes, webinars, and other online activities.

Microsoft Operating Systems

Availability: CS faculty, CS researchers and CS staff.

If you wish to avail for your project, you may request via the CSRC Service Desk portal. Your request will be received by the CSRC Technical Team and will be evaluated by the CS Admin for possible installation.

MS Office Suite

Availability: Those with active @up email account (most)

Microsoft Teams and MS Office 365 are available to select users with valid @up webmail account (There's a good explanation in this webpage). Microsoft Teams is a platform for collaboration where teams can add tasks lists, assign them to other members, and keep track of the progress of these tasks. MS Office 365 includes the familiar word processing (MS Word), spreadsheet (MS Excel) and slide presentation (MS Powerpoint) applications, among others.

Mendeley

Availability: Those with active @up email account (most)

Mendeley is a reference manager system. A free account is available. However, if you link your account to your @up email account, you will be able to access additional features (e.g. larger online cloud storage).

Mendeley login: Login procedure in Mendeley.app using the UP webmail account.

Adobe Pro DC

Availability: Select UP faculty and staff only.

Adobe Acrobat Pro DC is a comprehensive PDF tool that includes editing and signing. It has much more capacity than the usual Adobe Acrobat Reader. UP ITDC informs us that this is available to select UP faculty and staff only.

ArcGIS

Availability: Select UP faculty and staff only.

ArcGIS is a cloud-based software to create and share interactive web maps.

MATLAB

Availability: UP faculty, students and staff with active @up email.

Go to the MATLAB portal to get started. Use the @up email address in signing in.

Find the list of available products along with online resources for learning and teaching including free access to self-paced online training.

Other softwares

Other softwares are available from this ITDC page. Featured softwares with limited availability for faculty and staff:

  • NVivo: for qualitative and mixed-method research. It is used to organize, manage, and analyze qualitative data from multiple sources, such as Word, Excel, PDF, social media, and survey data.
  • SPSS: for complex data analysis. It has four programs: statistics program, modeler program, text analytics for survey program, and visualization designer.
  • Qualtrics: an online survey tool with built-in dynamic reporting tools.
